Hi All,
I am currently working on a job that requires an 18 VDI finish. I have a slight issue with the finish. there are multiple "hotspots" or "wear marks" on the EDM'd surfaces. The EDM surfaces cannot be polished, but the black marks left by the copper impregnated electrodes are raising concern in the tool making area. i explained to them that it poses no threat to the quality or functionality of the cavities, but they still want the marks cleaned up. I tried lightly scrubbing at the marks with a q-tip and acetone, q-tips and wd40, and q-tips and acidic toilet bowl cleaner.Nothing fully removed the spots. does anyone have any suggestions that do not require polish? thank you in advance
