The only post I found was 10 years old, so I'll see if things have changed. Local university wants me to wire EDM some samples that they can test. Waiting on drawings to tell me sizes and thickness, but I've never worked with magnesium. Assume I will need to drill start holes and wire rectangular parts with no close tolerances. Not sure why they wouldn't saw and mill, but they specifically wanted wire EDM. Anyway, other than hard on resin, are there any lasting problems from residuals in the machine?
