Topping up sinker oil

I need to top up the dielectric maybe 10 liters or so. The proper oil is not available locally so was thinking maybe use kerosene or very light hydraulic oil. How bad an idea is this?

Hi Bob,

Without going into the many reasons, this is a very bad idea.

For topping off your machine, 5 gal pails of real EDM dielectric are available from your local EDM suppliers. No need to buy a whole drum.
