If you are trying to edm a hole with a 0.040 diameter 0.600 deep in steel, you are limited to very slow removal rates because of the very small electrode area . . . no way to rush that.

You have different choices for material of electrode to over come this wear but if the wear is not an issue here then you can consider to surpass the strategy barrier of generator settings. These parameters usually prohibit the control to sink too quickly. You can increase Servo(S) and decrease Protection(PR)and use Isopulse Mode(M=7)with minimum retraction(R)and maximum utilization(U). The other parameters are case dependent(to avoid arcing and electrode deformation due to heat build up).
