Hello you guys.
I am not a wedm guy,i do not have wedm either.but i need to cut alot of piecut.
I send the Titanium grade 2 tubing for wedm to cut into thousand pieces.
The problem is
He used the same setting as he used on steel, wire was broken 3-4 times a day.
But when cutting steel, wire may last for a week.
So which setting should be adjusted for decreasing wire break rate ?
Thank you guys.
by the way,he uses molypdenum wire :D

Machine model # will help us identify generator parameters he could play with. Generally, a goto parameter is increasing spark "off time" (or decreasing pulse frequency). Using steel technology is not uncommon for cutting titanium.

I've only cut Ti a couple times on a wire but when I did I used steel settings with good results.

You might try increasing the wire speed, I'm assuming you're using power settings based on the wall thickness (*2) I would try a wire speed setting based on the full diameter of the tubing.

Cutting tubing is kind of a weird cutting condition on a wire with the dead space in the middle.

I've done it before and it seemed like settings that would work well for the entry were too slow in the middle of the tubing, and once you tweeked the settings to cut well in the middle the wire would break on the exit. If you can, probably best to use two different settings or adjust the transition for the entry/exit settings to compensate for this.
