    Default Aluminum Square Tube suppliers

I am looking for a supplier for 2.5" square tube and aluminum channel maybe 4-6" the tube I am looking at about 400 feet and the channel 90-100 feet. The alloy could be 6061 or 5052 it will be welded.

What kind of pricing am I looking at?

For small orders maybe, the pricing is really high.

Have you called and asked IMS and Bobco? 400 feet is still pretty much small scale retail- probably not worth shipping for a couple of thousand miles. On a small order like that, I depend on my ongoing relationship with my suppliers. When I was in So-Cal (my shop was there for over ten years) I mostly bought from Bobco, and had a first name basis relationship with my salesman- and he, in turn, would track things like that down for me, and bring it in it he had to.
My current suppliers, one for ferrous and another for aluminum/stainless/copper alloys, are similar- I know they will get me a reasonable price for material, and find what I need.

If you are only an occasional walk in customer, you pay retail.
Alum Channel is always a low volume product, expect to pay a pretty stiff price per pound, especially in such a small quantity.
Even in LA, stock may be a problem. Dunno- I try to avoid aluminum if I can, not my preferred material.

Call Coast, they stock channel and square tube in 6061 and 6063.

Doubt you'll find it in 5052.

I vote for trying IMS or Fry Steel. One thing I miss about being in So Cal.

Seriously? A person would have to be major stupid to buy 400 feet of anything from them or Online.

I was remiss to mention this project is at my shop in Kansas, just north of Wichita.

IMS would have been my first try in L.A.

    That knocks Coast out too.

    Try Ryerson.

CPS are Ryerson are both in that part of the country. Any steel service center should be able to get a bundle of AL. Good news is you are getting a bundle of tube, so bundle pricing on tube and should get lower than retail on channel. CPS is local to yonder, Ryerson is a large customer for my job- tough call.
