Hello experts,
Here is a short video of a nib master welding alloy tips (balls) to gold. The welding equipment reads "nib welder" and I cannot make out the make and model from the video (link below.

anyone one here recognise the welder. [I think its an arc welder with customised prongs and plate- but I cannot seem to make out where does argon gas concentrate the arc?]

I would be obliged for any pointers!

"arc" is a pretty vague term. This is, as far as I can tell, resistance welding, which the general term for the typo of welding that includes spot welding.
The big steel plate is connected to one lead, and the clamping tool holding the pen part is connected to the other lead. As far as a power supply, Its most likely DC, and at the low amperages that this involves, probably not a welding machine at all, but just a transformer.
