I'm looking for info on a press brake I have.
I bought a 1960's 90 ton eight foot brake, the brake weighs in at 11,500 pounds!
So in order for me to move the machine I took the ram off, I have an 8,000 pound Hyster.........this brings me to my question.
The wear plates and keepers are made of Micarta?
I would have thought these would have been something more durable, brass or bronze, is this normal for these brakes?
Micarta would not be my first choice in this application?
I called Chicago to order the manual and they were not much help on what material was originally used.
Anybody else ever take one of these press brakes apart, and what was the material used?
Thanks for any help.
