I have an opportunity to pick up a used Hobart Airforce 250ci at a reasonable price.
I'm aware this is a discontinued model, aware that at 110v it's low power, and aware that the on-board compressor isn't ideal.
I've got no plasma cutter for light fab work currently and my thought is that even a light-duty Hobart is probably better than a heavier-duty import. I'm hoping this would be an upgrade from tedious work with a grinder and/or PortaBand for sheet goods, angle iron, etc.
Wondering if anyone on the forum has used one, whether you were happy with it (at least for cutting less than 1/4"), whether you can confirm that consumables remain available, and whether there's any solid reason I should walk away from one assuming the price is a deal.
Thanks in advance.
