I need suggestions on how to support expanded metal steel sheets in our Trumpf TruLaser 3030. The cut parts or the sheet jump up after cutting and interfere with the laser head. This is expanded metal used for machine guards and is about .182" thick with diamond shape openings that are .94 x .31".

Thanks in advance for your help,

Doug

We used a Z retract after each cutout if they were spaced apart enough. That should work the same for you as long as they're not super close to each other. It takes more cycle time but it's worth it to just cut, retract, move to next cut, come down and cut, then go up. Doesn't matter if the part tips up and touches the laser head when you're done cutting because you're going straight up and away from there.
