    So I was thinking that in an I beam the vertical provides the strength and the flange keeps it from twisting, so maybe a box is similar

    Then I was thinking but the weld on a vertical would be so narrow you would be way over loaded before that was an issue

    Then I was thinking the fully welded tube would increase the strength enough by adding the cross piece it would not matter

    Then I decided I had no idea
