Quick?? re: Al boat and TIG

I have a guy coming out with a new '07 bass boat that is all aluminum. Any idea what the material alloy is as well as best TIG filler for adding a Al tubing substructure for fishing?
A know that is a mouthfull. It is a Tracker boat IIRC.
That's all I know at this point.--Grant

They usually dont use anything special. 4043 or 5356 should do you.

I'm not sure what grade of Al boats are normally made from. My first guess would be 5052 as its a better marine grade Al, but not as strong at 6061, hum, Anyone know?

4043 filler works fine for many Al alloys.

I don't do a lot of aluminum but when I do weld it, I have been using 4043 and with good results. I'll check with the manufacturer as to the exact alloy.
