Clausing VS12

It sounds like a 1500? Or a 11" Colchester?

The "600 Group" I think owns Clausing, Colchester and Gamet precision bearings. Their numerical logo appeared from time to time except I think it confused people.

If the serial number is a X/00YY/ZZZZZ number I'd bet it is a Colchester. If it is a straight 5 or 6 digit number then it's probably a Clausing. Colchester's serial #s are typically stamped into the bedway at the right end, front vertical face. Clausings seem to be on a nameplate riveted (drive screws) to the casting.

Clausing Service Center (Goshen, IN) can help if you give them the serial #.

Also a photo would probably do wonders :D

My reason here is that I saw an auction with a bunch of them coming up next week and I want to know if it is worth going to. Since the 600 is in the listing, I thought they would be pretty late model machines by the 600 group. But I was just wondering exactly what they were, I am not familiar with that model.

That's it....

Here's mine:

Swing over cross-slide: 8 5/8"
Nose: D1-3 camlock
Spindle bore: 1 3/8"

Weight: 1080 lbs

Where's the auction?
