Mighty Comet Milling Machine Part

I need a spindle for a Mighty Comet milling machine. It's a 3 horsepower variable speed head. This part doesn't interchange with Bridgeport, and they're trying to sock it to me on the price. Anyone know where an alternate source might be? Even a used one if it's good.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for a Mercury Comet 3KVHD draw bar? I think it is a R8 variable speed draw bar, any help would be appreciated.
