Low quantity needed for military, so need certs and can't change alloy. No luck with McMaster, MSC, Alro, Online. Does this exist? .010 thick is the thinnest I could find.

Anything thinner than .006" is considered foil & from there to .249" it would be sheet. I don't think anyone supplied 6061 in foil. IIRC ally foil only came from 1145 or 1235. I'd check back with the customer.

Good luck,
Matt

I've screwed myself like that before, and I'll probably do it again.

I hope this is for a quote and not an actual PO.

If you have the PO, dig dig dig. Sometimes you can find alternate materials in
the solicitation. Then dig dig dig into the specs you have to work with, sometimes
you can find a little nugget there that will allow a substitution.

If I had a dollar for every time I've had to do stupid stuff to meet the spec,
I could retire. Square parts out of round bar, round parts out of sawn plate.
There have been quite a few jobs that I spent more time lining up specs than I
did actually making the parts.

$50 says if you find your tinfoil, the certs won't have the correct spec on them.

Check with suppliers of of aluminum for home built aircraft. Aircraft Spruce has a variety of products and I am sure there are others. Zenith Aircraft, Belite are 2 that I know make metal aircraft. They may be able to direct you to a supplier.
