I recently picked up a large Hardinge HB24A indexer. From the little information I've been able to find, it rides on preloaded spindle bearings, uses 16C collets, pneumatically opens/closes, and manually indexes through 24 positions. The mounting surfaces of the one I have are all hand scraped. Does anyone have any literature on these units or an idea of what one might be valued at?

First I heard of such a thing, and I could not find it on the Hardinge website. Probably a very rare item, possibly even custom made on special order. I would estimate the new price at $30-40,000.

The 5C collet indexers model HV-4 list new for $12,438 but nice ones sell on eBay for under $1000 and beaters for a couple hundred.
