I have an item that I just made using AL6-4V Titanium. Did and still do make the item from Aluminum Bronze but wanted to lower weight. I purchased the best and only tap MSC claimed they had that was ground for Titanium in 3-48. Forgot the brand but still have the plastic box for it. Wasn't cheap if my memory is correct I paid $37 after my discount not including shipping. I do get free 2 day shipping but wanted it next day. It worked well in 49 holes but broke in #50. Depth of thru hole is 9/64" (.141") Used Variocut C Moly Dee tapping fluid. Drilling and tapping in Moore Jig Borer using using #46 (.081") tap drill. Anyone know where I can get 3-48 taps for Titanium to get longer life? ? McMaster has 2-56 and 4-40 but don't list 3-48.

The tap I broke was Emuge. I called MSC today and talked to a different Tech Rep. He found a OSG tap ground for Titanium. On it's way. Also Mcmaster is checking to see if they can get 3-48
