Help with Hydraulic schematic

I have been working on a problem with an old Tschudin HTG 410 grinder and am in need of some help to interpret the hydraulic schematic.

The problem with the machine is that the cross-slide does not move back upon completion of the spark-out time. I have reviewed the timer circuit and found that the spark-out timer should be started by a hydraulic pressure switch when the cross slide reaches its final position. The issue I have is that the pressure switch (E5 shown middle of page to right) closes as soon as the hydraulic pump is started. This leads me to think there is a valve that is stuck open in the hydraulic system. I have the schematic (attached) but am not sure how to interpret. Can anybody tell me what should be causing switch E5 to close?

Thanks,
Jon
