Acra, Acer, Chevalier, Others? who manufactured the larger Taiwanese Knee Mills?

Hi everybody,

We just acquired the contents of a small local machine shop whose owners are retiring.

Included in the sale are 2 large ACRA knee mills, Model# GS18F. These machines are retrofitted with 2005ish Anilam 3000m CNC controls, and are 2 axis and 3 axis, respectively.

I have noticed that many similar mills were (and still are) sold by Acer, Jet, Chevalier, etc. Our machine is most similar to a Chevalier FM-4?? from what I have seen.

I was able to download the manuals for a similar JET machine, and have the complete set of Anilam manuals so no issue there.

The machines are in great shape, but I am curious about the "M" cast into the column. Anyone know what it stands for? Meehanite? Just curious.

Thanks in advance!
