I have been trying to find the weight of this machine, or any specs for it really. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot on anything adcock and shipley. Best I could find is it seems to be 40 taper and have a 10"x40" table. Anyone happen to have one of these, or happen to know how it compares in weight to a bridgeport? I have a small trailer that will haul 2500 lbs but if the machine is much heavier than that I will need to find another option.

If it’s the machine I’m thinking of, we had them at the training school I attended.
Going from memory I think Sami is about right at 3,000 lbs or a ton and a half. A photograph would help.

Regards Tyrone.

A ton and a half may be an under-estimate.

No experience of the Adcock Shipley 2 series but I helped install a Victoria P2 machine of similar capacity which was certainly less heavily built than the Adcock Shipley. According to a fairly reliable source the Victoria comes in at about 3,500 - 3,600 lb according to the lifting crane load meter. Which sounds a bit high, ton and a half or a touch under more like it. About as much as I cared to shift by hand methods back when i was younger and stupider.

I'd want at least 2 tons, preferably 3, handling capability on hand for that Adcock Shipley.

I can't help with any specs, nor have I seen one, but I have kept photos of a couple that have sold locally...if that helps...

This one has the serial number 743 H 2 AGU Miller, Date 4/56

Sorry I don't have any pics of the machine. I was offered this machine for free if I could remove it, and was only sent a pic of the model number tag. Sounds like my small trailer may be a bit light for this job, so I'll figure something else out. Thanks!

Finally went and grabbed this sweet little machine today. It was a total crap shoot since I was not able to see picture of the machine beforehand, just a come and get it type of deal. It surely needs to be cleaned up before use, but it looks all there and nothing too banged up other than a bent handle, loose bolts, etc. I was expecting it to be a bit larger since the only other #2 sized machines I have are a k&t 2k, and a rambaudi 40 taper knee mill. I would put this machine between 3k-3500 if I was to make a guess. Now I have my work cut out for me for a few weekends. Still no clue why my pics show up sideways
