Wanting a single acting air cylinder to have a 12vdc solenoid. Press the button and the valve opens to let compressed air extend the rod. Release the button and the valve closes to stop the compressed air AND releases the pressure in the cylinder to allow the rod to retract.

What is this type of valve or air cylinder called so i can find it?

Thanks.

It's called a three way valve, because it has a pressure, return, and cylinder port. A subset of direction control valve. Available in normally closed or normally open types.

A four way valve is for double acting cylinders, since it has a second cylinder port. (usually labelled A and B in my experience). 5 way is the same as four way except it has two return ports; one per cylinder connection.

I typically buy pneumatic components from automation direct. There are many others but they are my personal favorite and a good start.
