Hello.
I have a thread going on over at the home-machinist forum that raised an issue about router speed controllers. I always appreciate the expertise and vast size of PM.
I have an AC motor than runs at about 8000 rpm. I am trying to bring that way down, into the range of 1000-2000 rpm. I purchased a cheap router speed controller from Harbor Freight which did the trick, except the rpms are still too high (4000).
Is it possible a higher-quality router speed control would do a better job and bring this into the range I need? Without going crazy, I'm happy to step up and try a more expensive unit.
If you know any specific models, would love a link and/or brand and model model.
Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.
