So, Brownells has be sold out of their “hold” which is a flash rust preventative for a long time. It’s used after polishing before hot bluing so that the bare steal does not form a micro layer of rust. I’ve had it on back order for a while, I’m wondering if anyone out there is using something else that doesn’t hurt the bluing process after being washed in 909 solution (a heated cleaning solution).

Have you checked with the bluing chemical companies? Du Lite and Hubbard Hall come to mind.
