I have a item I make using a 1/2" radius top die and a 1 1/2" bottom vee die. I need a longer bottom vee die for my 4' press brake and see polyurethane dies on Ebay out of 75D durometer material. Do they hold up? I am bending 12ga cold roll material. The cost is considerably cheaper than a new steel die since I can't find a used one.

Don’t see why not, seen them a few times though Ali was being bent, if it flexes I suppose you could can the bottom die with some 1/4 plate

How many parts are you going to be making? How many hours per day will the die be used?
What's the difference in cost between poly and steel dies.?

From what I've seen the poly dies have a reasonable but finite life, they will eventually wear out.
If you look after them steel dies will literally last a lifetime so the question is: Do you pay once or
do you potentially pay several times?

We're about three miles from where Accupress manufacture their dies and we have a four ft. brake
as well and have bought several dies from them. Four ft. crops aren't that expensive, you should
be able to find someplace that has them...
