Baldor Grinder - Wheel Side Guards

I picked up a couple of used 6" model 623E grinders. One has the two inner guards but no side covers. The other has a single inner guard and no side covers. Looking on eBay I see quite a few listed for sale that are missing the side guards. Do people just lose these? Take them off for some reason?

If you mount a wire wheel the guard can be in the way.

I'm using them on a 10" grinder. When rotating work the side guards restrict the angle of approach on the wheel. Has never been a real show-stopper.

Wheel covers on bench grinders are like vises on shapers. Don't buy the machine if the parts are missing.

I have heard that Harbor Freight grinder parts fit
Baldors. And they are much cheaper.
