The machine is an old, probably late 50s, HEALD Horizontal Mill. Can't find a model number.
Below the bearing race, is a round plate with an offset hole that holds the lower gear shaft bearings in place.
Question is, how does it come out? I assume it's threaded in. I put a 3/8" bolt in the hole and hit it to see if it would spin counter clockwise but nothing.
Has anyone removed one of these.
Also how do you remove a bearing race?
