Best way to seal bed bolts to chip pan?

How is everyone sealing their bed bolts? My colchester uses seals set into the chip pan which are not proud of the surface. I'm not sure exactly how these seal, or if the 50 years of wear is to blame. Was considering using some silicon before I set the bed down or a rubber washer. Wasn't sure how the interface is supposed to work there if a rubber seal might affect chatter. I'd love some input.

I would advise not to use silicone. Silicone offgasses and will make a rusty mess out of your machine.

I like black urathane sealant for machine tools.

Not all silicone out gasses. We use Dow 748 which is a non-corrosive RTV. Great stuff.

McMaster 74915A655 / Dow part number 2681234 for a 10 oz caulk tube. Or Zoro G8476511 / Dow part number 2455846 for a 3 oz tooth paste tube.
