This is my first post but I have been reading for awhile now , anyway I just picked up a Bewo 350 HT cold saw at a auction , Saw isn't in to bad of shape . It will get a paint job as soon as I get it running . I know from reading on here that the motors are usually 220 volt 3 phase and special ordered one were 440 volt , I have my shop set up with American Rotary 10hp rotary phase converter so I was hoping it was 220 volt so I could just wire in a new outlet where I was going to put the machine , but as my luck would have it , it has the 440 volt motor on it:ack2: From my reading on here the cheapest and easiest way to go is with a transformer , which is ok with me , I just don't have the electrical knowledge to confidently know exactly what transformer to buy . Wiring the phase converter and my Bridgeport and lathe were pretty simple with everything being the same voltage . Correct me if I am wrong but what I have gathered is I need to size the transformer 1 1/2 times the size of the kw rating . The motor plate has a 1.5 kw rating on the high speed setting which equates to 2.25 kw transformer at least. Here are some pics of the machine and the motor plate and a link to a transformer I found on Ebay . Sola/Hevi-Duty HT5F3AS 3KVA Rainproof Transformer 480V 240/120V 60Hz 3PH | eBay
