You should be fine. Big-Plus makes contact on the flange-spindle interface as well as the taper, so with a Big-Plus in a regular spindle there will be a small gap between the toolholder and the spindle face. You obviously lose all the benefits of Big-Plus but yes, it works.
Thanks Chip Splitter. I have some tooling I want to make and they want to have it made with BIG PLUS 50 tapers. So we are not using them we will be building tooling.
