I have a 20 ton bottle jack that has an integral "Air Motor" on it.
The jack itself works fine. The Air Motor does not.
I've traced the problem to the plastic cylinder inside the air motor.
Here is a photo:
In the center of the plastic is a sort of valve with a black rubber plug.
The plug assembly moves grudgingly. It needs to move freely. Once it does, the air motor will work once again.
Issues:
The jack is an expensive one from Grainger but is no longer made.
All parts have been discontinued.
The plastic cylinder appears to have been glued together into a single piece - meaning the "valve" can't be removed without destroying the whole thing.
------
I need some way to clean up the plunger/valve so that it moves freely again.
Suggestions please.
Gary
