Google produces a few product advertisements, but which ones are good? I'm brazing steel tube into a fitting. The fitting has a 1/4-28 tapped hole on the side and I don't want the brass to flow into it. What can I use to plug the 1/4-28 hole to prevent that?

I've used high temperature crayon in the past, but don't have any on hand at the moment to give brand names. Carbon soot also works, as does graphite. And, white out... :smoking:

Not sure about brazing if using a copper alloy but I have used #2 pencil "Lead" when not wanting Silver Solder to go where I didn't want it. Simple took a #2 pencil and colored the area I didn't want silver solder to flow.

It's called 'stop off' and I think handy and harmon sells it. Somebody once told me milk of magnesia
(mag sulfate) will work also. Try it on a test piece first.
