New poster inquiring to see if it can be done? Overview of the task is to change the angle of the steering angle to a more efficient angle to promote better suspension. This request from myself but somewhat from the KTMTalk Freeride specific forum. Our bike, the "Freeride" was built for slower speeds, having the steering angle more straight up compared to other dirt bikes. This design is very inefficient and unstable compared to all other dirtbikes that has a more angled steering stem. Others had modified this by use of "offset bearings". The problem has been that the bearings available to us are not the correct inner diameter. So they have been machining the steering stem down to fit the bearing. Which works, but results in the need of several bushings and each owner having to source this work out on his own, each time, re inventing the same wheel. To solve this issue, to create a plug and play that can be installed in minutes, be completely reversible, no machining to parts, no bushings, etc, all we need is the inner race machined larger to accept our steering stem as is. We understand that the inner is hard metal, that holding it has major challenges, but we ask, can it be done? I predict that 20 + plus pairs, upper and lower would be ordered as soon as it was verified to work, And predict that 100 orders would trickle in as the year goes on due to our forum interest. Whomever, took on this project could set up a website and sell these themselves, or simply have contact info on our forum under our threads on the subject. Here are some pictures for clarification. The steering stem pic is exaggerated for better understanding. One pic is a funny looking dirtbike as an overview. The outer fits at 47mm. The bearing inner is 25mm but needs to be 26.5mm and the bearing is app 13mm thick. We could supply these expensive bearings through another source or possibly someone knows of a source. This modification angles the wheel travel of the front suspension more forward, which operates so much more efficiently. This bike as is will beat you to death at higher speed. Thanks for your advise and hopefully someone will be up to the task
