Hello Forum,

I have a perfectly fine Harbor Freight 4001 paint spray gun. I want to make an adapter for the connection between the paint cup/pot and the gun. The male threads on the gun that screw into the pot's swivel nut are not standard as far as I can see? They measure 16.5mm and have roughly a pitch of 1.25. They are straight threads, not tapered. Alternate measurements are .648" and 20 TPI. But I have not found these specification anywhere for threads?

Anyone know what the deal is on these threads. Only constructive answers please. Thanks, Cismontguy

I ran into this very issue when adapting to a disposable cup system, it is a BSPP..at least that seemed to work on mine.

perfectly fine and harbor freight, now there's an oxymoron if there ever was one!

I watched a video of some guy plugging up all the leaking threads of his HF gun with teflon tape.

Take a good look at the gun and then find out which model of Devilbiss the ChiComms copied. Then just ask Devilbiss customer support.

I payed more for shipping on my last gun compared with this:

20 oz. HVLP Gravity Feed Air Spray Gun
