hello all, i am new to this forum. that being said, i will get to the point,. i have recently gotten into carbide inserts for wood turning. one of the problems is the expense, so i am trying to find cheaper alternatives. another problem is making sense of the id codes of the inserts. i have checked the usual places carbide depot, msc, etc.. and am still finding it difficult to find the ones i need. the ones i have now, i think, are for mill holders and are for cutting aluminum. of course, my sources will not disclose the id code. i think something like RCxt0602 inserts are the right ones R=round, c= 7deg., 06=6mm, 02=thickness, it is the edge preparation i am having trouble with. i need the F designation (sharp edge). can anyone offer any info, insight, or direction to get me the the finish line? i have included a pic of one of the inserts i am using now.
