Clausing Colchester serial number plate

Can anyone tell me where to find the serial number plate on my Clausing 15 x 50? I do know that it is an early model due to the fact that all of the selector handles on the headstock are metal, as opposed to plastic on later models.

If it's a " Colchester " made " Clausing-Colchester " the serial number should be in the same place as the British " Colchester " lathes. That is - stamped in between the ways at the tail stock end.

If you look up Round head Triumph lathe ,there is at least one manual and parts book online ......might take a bit of finding .....there are dozens of Student /Master downloads ,but I only ever found one Triumph.......The 15" is a far better lathe than the 12/13" Student.

Mine is on the TS side of the front way. (Mk1.5 roundhead 15x48)

Yes you're right, I was thinking of another brand of lathe. Usually the serial number on a lathe will be stamped at the tail stock end on one of the non contact machined faces.
