I need a capacitor for a coolant pump but unfortunately I don't have the old capacitor. I'm being told by suppliers that I need the uf rating for them to supply me with the correct capacitor for my pump. Is there any way of finding out what the uf rating my be from the pump motor?

Like maybe the nameplate on the motor ?

voltage & amperage & HP ?

run or start cap ?

If you have hp and voltage you can look it up on a table and get close enough. But is it run or start they are about 5-10 times different. Buy both and see which one works better.
Pull start the pump with some rope or a cordless drill and see if it keeps running. If so you need a start cap. If no then you need a run cap.
Does it have a centrifugal switch at all.
