Paulsen's name appeared on the ballot in New Hampshire for the Democratic primary several times. In 1996, he received 921 votes (one percent) to finish second to President Bill Clinton (76,754 votes); this was ahead of real politicians such as Buffalo mayor James D. Griffin. In 1992, he came in second to George Bush in the North Dakota Republican primary. In the 1992 Republican Party primaries, he received 10,984 votes total.

    I do miss Pat

Sir, you are guilty of telling a half-truth. Most of the hospitals in Massachusetts are federally chartered nonprofits while many hospitals in Texas are private. Under federal rules any nonprofit MUST accept all patients regardless of ability to pay as a condition of their tax-exempt status. Private hospitals pay taxes and as a business can and do refuse non-critical cases. The rejected patients are then referred to nonprofit institutions and charitable clinics. And private hospitals are not required to take Medicare or Medicaid as payment.

In the utopia of Massachusetts many private medical practices have signs on the front desk saying they will not accept Medicaid patients.

The difference between private sector and quasi-governmental is apparently not well understood by many who repeat inaccurate political mantras.

PS: That is likely the 100th time you've used the word bobbleheads. Do you perhaps like another angry liberal here also fall under autism spectrum?

Nobody has enough hospital beds to hold 5 percent of their population.
    Build em. We did.

Or is that too difficult for you guys ?

Oh wait, I forgot. China had leadership so it never got to 5% of the population. The murdering commie government took actual measures to stop an epidemic before it got out of hand. Those, those .... communists !

I take it you are unwilling to risk $5 on the capabilities of the US governments and splendid health care system ?

    Thought so. Money, mouth, etc.

@ Straight - they did the exact same thing in 1918. At first the "right to peaceable assembly" prevailed. Government figures were even proclaiming "Go to the Liberty Parade and be a patriot, this flu thing is way overblown !"

Then after thousands died, they decided to close up shop for a while. There is precedent. Check out the history.

    12/31 they notify WHO

    zero deaths

    trump blew the response

the only, I mean, only, reason to rant on about China's failures in dealing with the virus, is to cover up trumpskis MASSIVE failures, and his continuing undermining of the professionals trying to contain the disease

No one is trying to pretend China did everything right, by any stretch, but it does nothing to absolve trump of his continuing stupidity

    Gustafson and Scottl--
How about you two make a bet of $1000 on some verifiable outcome and make this interesting? Daily deaths on April 15 above or below X would be an obvious one.

The other good news/event is people might become more careful and learn better habits.

Perhaps a fine should be given to broadcasters of fake news.

What's really stupid is today's news that the US has more cases of the virus than even China. As if China is reporting honestly.....

As for Trumpski, it's already been well established that no matter what Trumpski does, there will be morons who find fault with it. No need for further discourse.

Lol. Those professionals have said the exact opposite.

A few days ago Fauci told reporters to stop twisting the facts and trying to pit him against Trump. Trump has never not followed their recommendations, or ignored their advice and taken a course of action they objected to on scientific grounds.

    Not Trump saying that- Fauci.

The mid-January travel restrictions, the ban at the end of January, subsequent restrictions on South Korea, Europe, the UK and Ireland- each time it was the professionals that made the recommendations, each time Trump executed.

The social distancing policy, same thing. Trump doesn't invent those things, and he hasn't hesitated to act.

But you are doing EG and his CCP handlers a great favor by pushing the narrative, I am sure they are grateful.

    The US systematically under tested.
NYC which has widespread testing has 37k cases of 80k+ cases total.
We are probably in 150-250k cases in states if not higher.
Hopkins published a week ago that that number was probably 500K.

The after the fact antibody studies will lay out actual case load.
I commented early on that researchers will be able to make accommodations for regional variations in testing ability and propensity to disclose that information.
I didn't think they would have to do that stateside but that is the plain fact as things stand.

Yeah, pretty much ... if you believed them, anyhow. Laid out pretty much what worked and a good plan for containment and a warning that it was going to be big and ... well, anything anyone with an IQ over twelve would need to get started. Warning, do not watch this unless your mind still functions.

Trump haters would chastise / impeach trump if he ordered a burger with no onions.
Trump loves would care less if he torched the place.

Yes, that's your strategy. Your "everyone had 2-months notice" lie was very creative.

The WHO is great. I'm sure the nations of the world appreciate the assurances from the WHO and China in late January that there was no evidence of human transmission....

Keep spewing your propaganda. Can you keep up with the death toll? You are trying real hard, but I don't think so...
