Hello, I need a profile tube for overlapping a D-shaped profile (dimensions looks like this Imgur: The magic of the Internet).

I tried bending a ordinary steel pipe to this shape by using a hammer and a vice, but I didn’t succeed. Any ideas on how this best could be done?

Add two more bars to make a hexagonal array. Now the seven bars will exactly fit inside a round tube of the appropriate inner diameter, which is three times the outer diameter of the bars..

Depends on how much you need- but cutting the slice off a round tube, and welding on a flat is definitely one way to go.
Another way, assuming you dont need 20' lengths, is to bend it from flat plate, then weld the seam(s).

I have done this a fair amount for shorter pieces- 24" and less. Sometimes I roll parts, other times I bend multiple bends with a brake.
Is this some kind of exhaust accumulator?
Because people like Cone Engineering will make most common usages of those.

Something like this http://www.rossmachineracing.com/images/large/dplenumt2.jpg and http://img.opencroquet.org/nimg/4e/...tainless_steel_pipe_steel_half_round_pipe.jpg

I need a tubing with the shape of a D to fit/overlap the D-shaped profile in my picture above.

What kind of "engineer" post's a request with nary a dimension ?...:nutter:

How long do you need each section of the profile? Lots of ways to do this if you want 100,000'. Lots of ways for 12" pieces as well, but completely different from the previous.
