I have a deep hole to drill/bore in unknown s.s. The shaft is 11 inches by 6 feet Military surplus from the Navy. It machines nice but it is s.s. The hole is 3 5/8 and 60 inches deep. I plan to use a hbm for the drilling. I have drilled shorter smaller hole before but nothing this deep. Anyone with some insight?? There is coolant on the hbm and it has a 5 inch bar with 30 hp. What would work the best without big dollar tooling?? Thanks Phil
