Details on these end mills?

I picked up a batch of end mills in a package deal, and not sure about a few of them. I'm not very familiar with the tip geometry and flute design, and curious what the benefit is...are these primarily for "soft" metals (aluminum, etc), or something else all together?

The ones with “compression” (forward and reverse) flutes are used for composites and other materials which are prone to fracturing and tearing. The reverse flutes are good for plastics where the parts are slippery ang can pull out of the vise. The ones with a hole in the middle of the end are typically cheap standard end mills for general purpose use. Many of them look to have been dressed, or re-sharpened on the end

Some would work well on wood.

Spruewell hit it on the compression bits. They are used frequently for cutting woods/laminates to prevent chipping out on the top and bottom of the material.
