We currently have a lathe fitted with a Dorian NVIT8-100 tool holder with what I think is a defective clutch. Not an expert on these type of things and the lathe is a bit overkill for what we need or will use it for. The tool holder has two locking pins that locate the selected tool but it has either been bending these or snapping them. Me not being an expert thought that it was these pins that actually took the load of the cut but have since found out that these are just for locating the tool in the right position and the clutch should hold it while cutting. My question is it the clutch and how difficult are they to repair. Anyone with any advice would be much appreciated!
