Have tried several methods to remove the chuck including impact driver with no movement.
Any ideas on how its attached?
Is there something I'm missing?
See attached pics.

Make plate to fit the bolt pattern around the perimeter of rear half of chuck. Weld 8 feet of 2" tube to it. Bolt to chuck. Lock spindle somehow. Unscrew chuck from spindle with 8ft wrench.

Unless I had a real need for I wouldn't bother though. Not much use for a little turret lathe like that today.

Break out the oxy/acy torch and heat it up near the spindle several times. As said earlier make something that will bolt on 2-3 holes on outer area of the chuck and lock the spindle .Make the arm on your bolt on part 2-3 foot long, smack the arm with a heavy STEEL hammer [no dead blow etc here] with a sharp rap.shock is what is needed not brute force. Arizona is a pretty big area ,Phoenix area? You either have some rust or old oxidized oil in the thread area.

I would apply heat and squirt penetrating oil on the joint from both sides and wait a few days. The long bar approach should work but it risks breaking teeth on the bull gear etc.

first I would soak it for a week with WD or better with a few drops every day...
Then:
Put in the largest bolt to fit two rim holes with nuts to make them very solid in place..
Set a bar perhaps 1/2 x 1" or better to cross the nuts and stick out perhaps 18' inches,
Then cool the chuck remains with some dry ice for perhaps 10 minuets. With the bar in place and the lathe in a slower speed gear give the bar a medium whack with a two to five pound steel hammer.

Heat would make the threads become lose...but if the jam is at the hub register heat would/may make it tighter.

Perhaps heat would lose the register along with the threads..so heat may be the ticket.

Am I working with right hand or left hand threads?

Couple Ive used....heat the outer rim of the plate strong as possible, this may pull the thread away from the spindle......dont muck about ,heat must not spread.....second ,use a air hammer ,about rivet hammer size ,to drive the plate round when the rim is hot.....and dont cut into the plate with a grinder.....turn it off with the lathe.....
