Hi,

I recently bought mill which had tool holders but no tools. One of them were face mill arbor so I measured the shank diameter and bought face mill to it. However just noticed that the arbor is missing the keys or what ever they are called. I tried googling but no luck, can't find any. Is the only option to make them or where could these be found?
Arbor is BT30 and key should be 8mm wide. There seem to be M3 thread on arbor to hold the keys.

Thank you.

Just buy a short length of 8mm or 5/16 key or flat stock, cut off a couple short pieces, round one end on the grinder, drill a clearance hole for a 3mm screw through them and either counterbore for a SHCS or countersink for a FHCS and you 're good. The fit doesn't necessarily have to be French. As long as you hold the cutter against the driving side of the slot/drive dog when tightening the cutter down it should be fine. You don't want the cutter rotating on you even a little while it's working.
