Hi Everyone,

I have an LCD display mounted and ready to go into an old shell of a Matsushita TX-1424AB CRT monitor from a Fanuc 10TF. PN A61L-0001-0074

The Honda connector that goes to the monitor provides the RGB signal is the one I am interested in.
I have searched high and low and cannot find a pinout!

Can someone please provide me a pinout? I want to buy a scan converter to finish this project up.
As soon as I do I will post the results.

Thanks.

The closest thing I could find is this:
The CN1 label is correct, but this is a 12" color CRT.

would the signals wires be:
VD01 = red ???
VD02 = green ???
VD03 = blue ???
0V = Ground ???

Ok, I think I have found it. Can someone that has done this before just double check this:

Makes sense, black wires are ground. V&H sync are the small connector and RGB and their grounds are the large connector.

Will hook up to an arcade scan scaler board and post results in a few days.

It works! No scan doubler needed! The crazy LCD panel I have in there sync to everything.
The pinouts found on the Fanuc maintenance manual for the 9" crt worked.

I also found a post that verified the info. Here it is:

D sub 15 vga -> honda 20 pinouts:

vga honda
1 -> 1 (RED)
2 -> 4 (GREEN)
3 -> 5 (BLUE)
10+11 -> 8+9+10+11+12 (GROUND)
13 -> 2 (Horizontal sync)
14 -> 3 (Vertical sync)

4,5,6,7,8,9,12,15 (vga not connected)
6,7,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20 (honda not connected)

20.3KHz/55.25Hz FANUC control console timing

if you gutted your original CRT, here are the color wires attached to honda connector to pinouts on the VGA connector.

VGA HONDA WIRECOLOR
1 -> 1 (VDO 3) Red (RED SYNC)
2 -> 4 (VDO 2) Yellow (GREEN SYNC)
3 -> 5 (VDO 1) Blue (BLUE SYNC)

Might be good to close out the (very informative) thread with the particulars of the panel itself. I don't have a need, but others might.

Source, mfg numbers, price, basic size, link to manual/datasheet, etc...

Same on your scaler board...

I hate it when I get to a post that has been solved but not closed out! Sorry!

To find an LCD screen that would most likley work I searched:
for "A61L-0001-0074 LCD"
A few options came up in the $450 range.

This seemed like the best plug and play option:
Fanuc Replacement LCD Monitors- Matsushita TX 144 AB
I have it installed in another machine, and it works great. It has what looks like a scalar board inside the case.

Of course, I have more machines to fix so, I wanted something a little cheaper.

I found a used CRT to LCD replacement from Omnivision On ebay.
It was model number FP12B4G1-ZLn
I have no idea what application it is for, it just looked like it was similar and would work.
It did not have the additional board on the side.

Perhaps I should have called and asked how much the universal option would have cost, this is essentialy what I got when I gutted the purchased monitor.
Replacement LCD Monitors- 12.1" LCD to Retrofit 14" CRT

Here are more pictures!

I also included some bushings I made up to more easily install the monitor.
You just drill out the welded in bushings and then reinstall the monitor with slide in bushings. It made removing the monitor easy in my enclosure.

I also took the cover off to show the LCD driver board. I could not figure out who makes it in order to source just the LCD.

Hope this helps!

one more thing:

Prices:

1,000
Plug and play option. ready to roll. Ships same day.
Probably the best option for most people:
Fanuc Replacement LCD Monitors- Matsushita TX 144 AB

$450
Gut your crt, install new LCD:
Search for "A61L-0001-0074 LCD" on eBay.
There are a few options.

Will add 2 hrs to install time. Not a bad option at all.
Known to work.
Best to have it in stock or replace your crt before failure.

$300 - maybe less
USED LCD - known to work.
Search for used LCD replacements on eBay. I got the one above for $300.
It was a for an early monochrome Mazak.

$150 - the unpaved road.
Find a 12.1" LCD direct from china that works. - I have failed to do this.

8.4" replaces a 9" CRT
10.4" replaces a 12" CRT
12.1" replaces a 14" CRT
