Hi,
Occasionally, I resurface cylinder heads on a Van Norman 38MEA mill, using a Kennametal 12" facemill. The inserts are SEAN style. The finish they leave on aluminum is not very good. I'd like to find an insert that fits this facemill that is better suited to aluminum. I talked with Kennametal yesterday and this facemill and insert style is obsolete by them so they didn't have a recommendation. I am not how to determine finding an insert that fits, but has a cutting profile appropriate for aluminum.
