    Default Finishing a small bore?

I got a part from a customer that has a 3/8" bore and he is looking to get a better than a reamer finish on the inside. I have tried those little abrasive brushes and they are ok but a little more work than I really want. I have some money to invest in tools so I was wondering if there is something in between an abrasive brush and roller burnisher that can be used in a CNC lathe.

A Sunnen hone will get any finish or dimensional accuracy you need ,wont be anywhere as quick as a CNC machine tho......You may be able to use the CNC machine to push a stationary* ball burnish thru and back (non rotating.)

Flex hones. Many types available. BRM Flex-Hone(R), Industrial Brushes, Wire Brushes

Mount the brush in a tool holder. Stroke with the carriage. Rpm as per the recommend for the size.

Flex hone is a good, cost effective, suggestion.

I'll throw out a roller burnish tool.

Roll-a-Finish | Burnishing Tools by Cogsdill
WE used these at work , amazing finish is attainable, maybe 3/8 at bottom of hole will not be reached.

Not sure, but can a half round drill get a better finish than a reamer?

Sometimes, but it depends on a lot of factors, .............with (IME) the biggest one being luck.
