Fixture Design - What is this???

Morning People,

Just a quick one.

Can you have a look at both of the photos below. These are some fixture photos from the AMF hydraulic catalogue.

What is the green material? Some kind of plastic? With fibreglass?
Why is it used?
What is it for?
Why is it made out of that material?

It looks like its only used on OP10. Is it for initial pickup points in X and Y? Normally I would use hardened stops, or is it just for ease of loading for the operator?

Looks like it could be glass filled nylon. Probably to avoid marring a workpiece on the fragile end of the scale. I'd imagine they offer several options for material on the locating stops.
 
Acetal comes in blue, green, white and black. Maybe there is a family of parts run off that fixture and the inserts are color-coded?

To keep the parts from getting marred?

Maybe just to make a pretty marketing picture.
