Is there a term / name for the type of threaded connection like is used on a two piece gun cleaning rod?

I don't know if there is an actual term/name for the connection? The one I have the thread is small enough to leave meat for the female end to be counter bored as to let the shoulder of male side screw up flush to its outer face. I'd call it a flush fitting threaded connection?

This site has a gunsmith section if you don't have any luck here might ask down there?

oil/gas/water well drillers use a "Pin & Box" designation.

Also called "wash pipe" connections. If your looking for something in the 2" OD or larger sizes.

Unless you are looking for a Rotary Shouldered Connection, which has a steep taper to the thread and OD flush with a face to face seal.

If he could get a Drillco or similar license, and then scale it down.....:skep:

Think of the prestige factor...:D
