Just got a letter thru the door.
Fry's is being acquired by Ryerson's.
Not sure if this going to be good. Fry's is fairly close to me, the guys on the will call side are outstanding to work with. The female sales people less so, that could be improved.
Fry's seemed to be out of a lot of common 6061 sizes I use a lot, they were quite a bit cheaper than IMS on most sizes, but didn't do me much good when they didn't have it.
Also they kept a decent stock of 15-5 and Aermet 100, which one of my customers uses a lot.
If they close the facility it's going to really suck for me and a couple of my customers due to it's conveniance.
One thing that always surprised me was the number of packages of material destined for Malaysia, Indonesea and a few other exotic locations that were in the will call area.
