Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has an idea of a different company that sells something relative to a harig #2, because we are having quaility issues with them and I cannot find an alternative workholding fixture.

Thank you.

Depends what features you need.

A Suburban Master grind would need a 1" riser block to get the same center height and the MG is not designed to work horizontal as well as vertical. Harig also obviously has a 6" face plate.

Other than that, the MG actually has a larger footprint, and very similar capacities. The Harig's Vee will hold a larger round, 2" vs 1-5/8". But the overall apparent "largeness" of the Harig is sort of deceptive. IMO, the Suburban, with 2 adjustable bearings is better designed.

PS, forum member RJ Newbould makes some nice stuff. "if you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it" :D
